Lily Lori's Layouts

Scrapbooking, Card Making, and Stamping Fun

For Always

“For Always” is the best paper and embellishment set I have seen in any paper line in a long time.  It would work well for Anniversaries or special occasions too.  Drag out any extra bling you have in your stash so your layouts sparkle and shine.  Close to my Heart chose Honey, Ruby, and Lagoon for accent colors but any color to match dresses would be very striking.  I used wedding photos in my layouts but most of us have special occasions we wish to highlight in our memories.

The first two layouts are made on the black brocade printDSC_0294 paper.  I added two sheets of Ruby cardstock and took out the Honey and Lagoon cardstock to make my layouts match.  The first page is constructed on white cardstock.  The first black stripe is 2 3/4″ wide x 12″ long.  The Ruby stripe is 8 1/4″ wide x 12″ long.  The black stripe on the right side is 1 1/4″ wide by 12″ long.  The photo is an 8″ x 10″ photo cut down to 7 3/8″ x 9 3/8″.  It is matted on Slate cardstock with 1/8″ showing around the photo.  The zip strip used on the top is placed down 3/4″ from the top of the page.  Each circle on the zip strip is filled with a sparkle.  With all my heart is embossed on a separate piece of Ruby cardstock and is “pop dotted” up from the rest of the page.

The second page of this layout was made of an???????????? entire sheet of black brocade paper.  The Ruby band is 2″ wide and is placed 2″ from the bottom of the layout.  A wedding invitation was placed in the center above the band.  A 3 1/2″ wide x 2 1/2″ photo was used on each side of the invitation.  The photos were matted in Slate cardstock with 1/8″ showing around the outside of the picture.  A larger Ruby mat is 4 3/8″ wide x 3 1/4″ high.  The zip strip used on the Ruby band is place 1″ from the bottom of the band.  It is also decorated with sparkles like the first page.  The shiny buttons and the hat pins came from left over embellishment packages.  The silver “leaves” are from the Slate mini-medleys (item Z1787) and the Ruby resin rose is included in the Workshop on the Go.

The next set of layouts begins with a black back- ????????????ground.  The black doily print is cut into 11″ x 11″ squares and matted in the center of the solid black.  Note I “stole” paper out from under the pictures for the next two layouts.  I only had one Workshop on the Go plus extra Slate and Ruby when I made these layouts.  These pictures were cut down from 8″ x 10″ photos too.  Once again I exposed 1/8″ of Slate under the photos.  The gray ribbon (item Z1802) is dovetailed and is approximately 10 1/2″ long.  True love is a sticker and I used one other sticker on the next set of photos.  The sparkle flourishes are item Z1708.  I used the larger two flourishes.  The flourish placed over the ribbon is cut into two pieces so it is extra long.  I embellished with black tulle ribbon (item Z1798), Slate mini-medleys, the other flowers were from previous campaigns.

If you don’t have anything to use from your stash???????????? the Filigree Charms (item Z1269) also work well.  I tried them too and just decided to add the bling from my old stuff.

The second half of this layout is constructed the same way as the other side of the page.  The matted photo is about 1/2″ from the bottom and 1/2″ from the left side also.  The same flowers were used on this layout too.

The last two page layout is made to display 3 1/2″ x LO5  5 1/2″ photos or smaller photos.  I personally like to display many wedding photos or special occasion photos so more people are included in the snapshots.  I also like to add tickets, journaling and other personal items that I hate to throw away.  I frequently add pages similar to these to my extra special events.  The rectangles are slightly smaller than 4″ x 6″ and the heading area is made by using a 3″ x 11″ band of paper.  The writing on the bottom is an 11″ piece of zip strip.  The heading is the negative or throw away part of cutting letters on the cricut.  Next I backed the white piece with the Ruby piece and glued the missing parts of the letters on.  Last, I added small sparkles to the letters to make them “catch the eye.”
