Scrapbooking, Card Making, and Stamping Fun
You are invited to join my friends and I as we prepare our Fall and Halloween scrapbook pages. It is nice to get the pages ready and then add your pictures based on the sizes you need for your pages. This is an unusual color palette. Smokey Plum, Slate Gray, Black, and Goldrush are the main colors. The Workshop on the Go contains Black & Grey Sparkles and the Haunted Assortment in addition to the paper and stamp set. I knew I wanted to glam it up so I chose the Pixie Glitter Alphabet, and Moonlight Dimensional Elements to make the workshop look glitzy with these embellishments. I did extra layouts for this paper because all my pictures were so cute. I had one WOTG and two paper packets so I know you won’t have enough paper to make everything. I thought you could pick the ones you prefer. If you would like to purchase extra pages give me a call or e-mail me so I can help you get what you need.
The first set of layouts have a lot of pictures on them. Both layouts begin with Goldrush backgrounds. I kept it very simple because I made a photo collage. The 3/4″ x 12″ strips is 2 3/4″ up from the bottom. The orange pattern paper is 5 1/2″ x 12″. The smaller pictures are 3 1/2″ wide x 4″ high. The large picture is 4″ x 6″. Bradley is written with the Pixie Glitter Alphabet. The “Scaring up some Fun” Dimensional Element.
The black and white strip is over 2 1/2″ and the orange pattern is 5″ wide.I used three dimensional elements on this page. The largest picture is 4″ x 4″. Using odd numbers is a general rule for a “good” design. I chose to use BJ’s full image on the central shot and just his face on the remaining pictures. The size of the pictures you use should be based around each individuals face or body features. A two page collage is a good answer to using several pictures.
The next two page layout begins with black cardstock for the background. I refer to this layouts as “thirds”, because all most everything is a trio. From left to right the first 1/4″ x 12″ purple stripe is 6″ to the right. the mottled(?) plain strip is 4″ x 12″. The next layer, the orange owl is 3 1/4″ x 11 1/2″ and it is placed 7 1/2″ from the left. It is even on the bottom and 1/2″ from the top. The layer on top of this is 1/4″ x 12″ purple fish scale design is 9″ to the right. The black and white stripe is 3/4″ wide by 12″ tall. The next addition is three pictures with 1/4″ mats around them. The first two are 1″ from the left (including the matting). Both photos are 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. The 4″ x 6″ focal picture is 5″ to the right. My two line title is down 1″ from the top of the page using the Pixie Glitter alphabet”. There is 1/4″ space between all of the items on these two pages. The flags are 7″ from the top of the page. The 2 1/2″ tall by 4″ wide journaling block is centered below the central or focal part of the layout. Two large brads from the “Haunted Assortment” are used for accents on the written portions of the layout.
The second sheet on this layout (lo) begins with the mottled plainer paper 1″ to right. This piece is 2 1/4″ wide x 12″ tall. The second purple fish scale strip is 1/4″ x 12″ and it is 2 1/2″ over from the left. The orange owl paper is 3/4″ x 12″ high. It is 3 1/4″ toward the right side. The 4 1/4″ Colonial White” mat is 4″ to the right. Another 1/4″ x 12″ strip is used at the other edge of the mat. Three 4″ x 4″ pictures are the last layer on this side of the lo. Three bats and one owl are from the Dimensional Elements. The date at the bottom of the page is used so others would have simple benchmarks for growing up.
The next set is based on the Workshop on the Go (wotg). I changed the background to gray for more contrast with the pictures. My pictures have a black background. Besides “I dig,” using gray and purple together. I added three bats flying, 0ne spider dangling, and one mummy pulling “Boo,” toward the left. I used liquid glass to add dimension to the letters and spider.
The other page of this lo is the same as the WOTG. I added the Dimensional Elements because they “are stinking cute;” as my up-line , Jennifer Bennett, would say. I like that line… thanks, Jen. I know I added a Slate Gray cardstock to make this set. If you want yours backed in Gray you will need to add that too.
The last two layouts came from one of my extra sets of paper and both pages are copied from “The Idea Book” page 156. These lo-s are from the discontinued “Reflections” book. If you need a copy of the directions give me a call at (402)932-3891, or e-mail me at http://www.lilylori.ctmh.com.
