Lily Lori's Layouts

Scrapbooking, Card Making, and Stamping Fun

Florentine Layouts

I liked this workshop from day one.  The colors Twilight, Garden Green, Brown Bag and Vanilla Cream are so compatible.

The first set of layouts started out just like the directions in the Workshop on the Go.  The next thing I knew I was dragging out my vintage photos and adding pull down bottoms to the pages.  My mom thinks everything I make in Twilight is wonderful, so what better start to tell the story of how she and dad met.  You can make these pages without the Flip-Flaps or if you want a challenge give extending your page size a try for a special touch.  The second and third two-page layouts follow some of the artwork found in the Workshop on the Go and Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book.

  • The first two-page layout (lo)  is something I created especially for my mom.    The background is Colonial White edged with Chocolate ink.  This is followed by an 11″ x 11″ Twilight overlay also edged in Chocolate ink.   The rectangles are 1 1/2″ down from the top.   I started the lo  in 1″ but if you want it square you would place it over 1 1/4″.

There are three rows of pictures with 4 rectangles in each row.  You can end your lo here for an easy solution to using several small pictures or you can add the fold-down layer for extra pictures and journal entries.  I used an old stamp “Close to my Heart” for the small titles.  The big titles were cut using the Cricut Philosophy cartridge.  The pewter brads and some pearls gave the layouts the extra element that I love so much.

The second two-page layout (lo) is similar to the lo on page 50.  I used Colonial White edged with Cocoa ink.  The next layer is an 11″  x 11″ piece of brown bag also edged in Cocoa ink.  The third layer is cut from the big design paper.  I used a 4″ x 6″ photo matted on a 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ green mat.  I used the largest size pearls I had.  On the lower left side I used one of the Sparkles Flourishes.  I added the largest stem from the Color-Ready Accents using Liquid Glass.  To make the flower I layered the largest Bohemian flower with a smaller flower on top.  A button from the Bohemian Assortment was used for the center of the flower.  I smudged up the flower a bit with some Cocoa ink.  Two butterflies from the Bohemian Assortment  were added on the right side.  These were also smudged a bit with Cocoa ink.  The stamps I used for this lo are from the set “Family Love.”

The second page starts out with the same Colonial White and Brown Bag background.   The pictures and pieces on the top and bottom row are 3 1/2″ x 4″ each.  The middle row is 2 1/2″ high.  The Twilight piece is 7″ long and the gold piece is 3 1/2″ long.  The title is made from CTMH Cork Alphabet colored by stamping them with Cocoa ink.  The letters look like velvet after they’re colored.

The last two-page layout is the main lo from the workshop on the go.  The first page is exactly the same as the workshop.  Both pictures are 4″x6.”  I would like to add some Timeless Charms to the last two pages but, alas I didn’t order them!  I think they’re still in this campaign so I need to look it up.   I hope you have as much fun creating these layouts as I did.

The second page is the same as the workshop except I reversed the papers and I added another picture.  The picture under the journal is 3 1/2″ wide x 4″ high.
